Organised by animal lovers, driven by compassion

TAK Pony Rescue is a group of dedicated volunteers based in South Yorkshire who came together with one goal: to save unwanted and poorly ponies from neglect, suffering, and slaughter.

  • Every rescued pony is microchipped and issued a full equine passport
  • Passports are held by TAK — no pony can ever enter the meat market
  • Ponies receive full veterinary assessments on arrival
  • We carefully match ponies with suitable, loving forever homes
  • Rehomed ponies are monitored with follow-up visits

The Rescue Journey

How we give a pony a second chance

From rescue to forever home, every step is done with care.

Rescue Call

We receive a call about a pony in need. Our team responds quickly — day or night — to assess the situation and bring them to safety.

Vet Assessment

Every pony is seen by a vet and microchipped. We passport them immediately so they're protected from the meat market for good.

Rehabilitation

Ponies receive the feed, farriery, veterinary care, and time they need to recover — physically and emotionally — at our centre.

Forever Home

When ready, we carefully match each pony with a vetted home and carry out follow-up visits to make sure they're thriving.
